What is Uniaxial Geogrid?
A uniaxial Geogrid is a structure that is mostly made out of polyester with PVC coating. The structure has most strength in only one direction compared to the other and has long openings between its junctions which are referred to as apertures.

A uniaxial Geogrid has maximum strength in one direction compared to the other direction. Uniaxial Geogrid is used mostly in wall and slope applications. It is made up of polypropylene by the process of extruding, punching, heating and stretching the material. The geogrid has high tensile strength and highly elastic making it good to withstand high amounts of weights and stress without deforming. Used in retaining wall, railway reinforcement, dam reinforcement and sea reclamation projects.

The structure must be of good degradation resistance and must have a small deformation. Before placing the Geogrid make sure that the gravel or sand beneath is well aligned without no holes or deformation.
