  • More flexibility

PVC Geomembrane

PVC Geomembrane is a synthetic liner made from polyvinyl chloride which is a thermoplastic polymer with exceptional chemical resistance and flexibility. These Geomembrane materials can be infused with other substances to enhance physical properties such as strength, dimensional stability and tear resistance.

It can be installed with Geotextiles and Geogrid.

Composition and Structure

In making PVC Geomembranes, PVC resin is blended with plasticizers and other additives for performance enhancement. The PVC resin is derived from the polymerization of vinyl chloride monomers.

Plasticizers improve the flexibility of PVC Geomembranes and ease of handling making them capable of conforming to irregular surfaces during installation. Stabilizers enhance the resistance qualities of the Geomembrane to heat and UV degradation helping maintain material integrity over time.PVC material it performs well under low-temperature conditions and is suitable for use in cold areas.

Where to Use PVC Geomembrane

PVC geomembranes are employed in different applications some of which are captured below:

Agriculture – Water reservoirs, irrigation canals and agricultural ponds utilize PVC geomembranes as lining material to preventing seepage ensuring efficient water usage.

Environmental Protection – PVC geomembranes can be used to line hazardous waste sites, ensuring the pollutants are safely contained preventing their spread.

Floating Covers – When utilized as floating covers for tanks and reservoirs, PVC geomembranes prevent contaminant entry and evaporation while also controlling odors.

Industrial Applications – Mining operations, chemical storage areas and oil and gas containment utilize PVC geomembranes to provide containment and prevent hazardous substances release.

Landfills – Use as linings, they prevent the leakage of leachate from decomposing waste into surrounding soils where they can contaminate ground water.

Advantages of PVC Geomembrane

PVC Geomembrane

PVC Geomembranes feature the following benefits when used in different applications:

  • As they are impermeable, they provide a highly effective barrier against substance migration like contaminant leakage which can cause pollution.
  • By preventing the contamination of soil and groundwater, PVC Geomembranes contribute to environmental protection effectively averting hazardous material release into the environment.
  • Heat fusion techniques can be used to join PVC Geomembranes allowing creation of strong, watertight seams with reduced leakage risk.
  • PVC Geomembranes are highly durable and reliable offering resistance to mechanical stress, weathering and UV radiation ensuring long-term use.
  • PVC Geomembrane performs well under low-temperature conditions and is suitable for use in cold areas.
  • The excellent conformability and flexibility of PVC Geomembranes means they can easily adapt surfaces with complex geometries ensuring proper coverage.
  • Their flexibility and lightweight property makes installation of PVC Geomembranes uncomplicated reducing installation time and costs.
  • They display resistance to chemicals including organic solvents, acids and alkalis allowing use where there’s exposure to aggressive substances or environments.
