PET Non-woven Fabric
PET non-woven fabric is made from polyester fibres. At times, they are spunbond for superior strength and breathability. Owing to the many benefits, the polyester non-woven fabric has gained popularity across many industries.
Benefits of PET Non-woven Fabric
Water-repellent – It has intrinsic water resistance and can be made to haze moisture and air, making it hydrophobic.
Maximum Strength – Because of its high strength, it can sustain prolonged use and is resistant to breaking and tearing, making it durable.
High Temperature Resistant – Because polyester has a melting point of roughly 260°C, it can keep the proportions of a non-woven fabric stable in a temperature-sensitive environment.
Inexpensive – It is cost-effective due to its flexible production adjustment procedure and the availability of raw resources.
Easy to Clean – It is simple to clean with a machine or by spot-cleaning.
Lightweight – Compared to other non-woven fabrics, PET is considerably lighter

How to Identify Non-woven PET Fabric
The following are ways to identify a Non-woven PET fabric:
- If water droplets on the non-woven fabric’s surface slip off right from the surface.
- Another indicator that the material is non-woven is its strength; non-woven materials are weak and easily torn.
Uses of PET Non-woven Fabric
Automobile Industry – It is utilized to manufacture ceilings, acoustics, seat covers, temporary trim, and automobile carpets.
Medical and Healthcare – It is used in the healthcare and medical industry to manufacture masks, surgical gowns and wipes.
Geotextiles – It is used in geotextiles for roadway split, railroad stabilization purposes, drainage systems, geomembrane safeguarding, and landfill leachate collecting.
Agrotextiles – PET Non-woven fabric is used in crop covers and mulch mats.

Types of PET Non-woven Fabric

- Spunbonded Non-woven Fabric – This form of PET non-woven fabric has a consistent structure and is made by spinning and glueing continual polyester threads.
- Spunlace Non-woven Fabric – This PET non-woven fabric is made by intertwining a network of unconnected filaments through successive series of high-pressure water streams.
- Laminated Non-woven Fabric – This PET non-woven fabric is created by laminating it with another filament material to create the final product. Lamination can be done by adhesives, heat, pressure, or a combination of the three ways.
- Non-woven Printed Fabric – It is a PET non-woven fabric with patterns, images, and designs printed on it using sublimation, heat transfer, and digital printing techniques.

How to Polyester Non-woven Fabrics are Made

It is made using a technique known as spun bonding. PET Non-woven fabric is produced in the following ways:
- Preparation of polymer – The polymer is dissolved and extruded to generate a stable filament during manufacturing.
- Extrusion – The melted polymer is then run through a spinner with holes, defining the unique fabric’s properties.
- Formation of network – After that, the materials are stretched and structured in a collateral pattern. They are placed on a moving conveyor belt to form a web.
- Bonding – The web material is subsequently bonded using various techniques, including chemical, mechanical, and thermal bonding.
- Finishing – The web material is subsequently bonded using various techniques, including chemical, mechanical, and thermal bonding.
- Winding and cutting – The resulting cloth is then trimmed to the length required for the intended purpose.
