Extruded Geogrid
Extruded Geogrid is a flat drill design made up of a systematic extended grid. It is inbuilt with attached ductile components processed by excreting polymers either in the two main directions (biaxial) or in one order (uniaxial).
Compared to bonded and woven Geogrids, extruded Geogrid usually is inflexible.
How to Make Extruded Geogrid
Extruded geogrid is processed by excreting polymers in either the two main directions (longitudinal and transversal) or in one order. This produces material with uniformly extruded grid for any application.

Types of Extruded Geogrid
· Biaxial Extruded Geogrid
It is a flat grid with significantly greater power in one of the directions than the other, and it is also known as a mono-oriented extruded geogrid.
· Uniaxial Extruded Geogrid
It is a tabular grid with indistinguishable power in both longitudinally and horizontal directions (both directions) and is also known as bi-oriented extruded geogrid.
· Triaxial Extruded Polypropylene Geogrid
It is triangular in shape and composed of shredded polypropylene material aligned in various equal directions.
Advantages of Extruded Geogrid

- Durability
Extruded geogrids are made of high-quality polymers that are chemically resistant and consequently long-lasting.
- Desired reinforcement and stabilization
Extruded geogrid helps soils become more stable and load-bearing. When inserted throughout a soil mass, it interlocks with soil particles, resulting in an effective reinforcing system that reduces soil movement and boosts the frame’s general stability and durability.
- Enhanced bearing capacity
Extruded geogrids improve the carrying capacity of weak soils by spreading loads evenly. Therefore, it distributes the load over a larger area, decreasing the stress on the ground underneath.
- Strong tensile strength
The method by which extruded geogrids are manufactured ends in a coordinated structure, gives them high tensile strength and hence can disperse stress and resist enormous loads.
Applications of Extruded Geogrid

Extruded geogrids are utilized in stabilizing soil and strengthening because they minimize soil erosion while increasing load-bearing capacity.

In road pavement reinforcement, extruded geogrids are used to minimize tensile and spread loads, hence boosting longevity.
